Hot Sculpt Class Review: Burn Lab, London

Tucked away in a quiet South Kensington mews, you’ll find Burn Lab, a studio I had been seeing all over Instagram and couldn’t resist trying, especially since it’s practically around the corner from me.

From the moment you open the door, the heat hits you instantly a preview of what’s to come and a clear sign that you’re about to sweat.

The studio itself is made up of one main room, but what stood out immediately was the quality of the equipment. The mats and accessories are all high-end, which is refreshing at a time when it feels like everyone and their mother is opening a workout studio stocked with cheap, low-quality products.

I opted for the Sculpt class, which struck the perfect balance: challenging, yet still manageable. Sometimes classes can feel so intense that they become discouraging, but this one kept me motivated throughout. It’s a full-body workout that incorporates a variety of props, and I loved that you could tailor the intensity to your own level: adding or removing elements like ankle weights depending on how far you want to push yourself. That flexibility makes the class feel inclusive and accessible, no matter your fitness level.

The heat was definitely there, but still bearable. And at the end of the session, you’re handed a cold eucalyptus towel, a small touch that makes all the difference and feels incredibly rewarding.

The instructor was incredible: energetic, motivating, and fully engaged from start to finish. You genuinely feel encouraged to keep going.

The highlight?  The music because let’s be honest, it can make or break a class. The playlist was spot on: uplifting, energising, and immersive enough to make you almost forget you’re working out.

The downside? The space itself. When you arrive, it does feel slightly underwhelming compared to how it’s portrayed on Instagram, a bit of a “smoke and mirrors” situation. That said, once the class starts, you quickly forget about it because the experience itself is so strong. There is also a small shower on-site, not ideal, but useful if you’re in a pinch.

Overall, Burn Lab may be compact, but it delivers where it matters. The experience feels thoughtful and elevated, with little perks that are surprisingly rare in London: complimentary water, snacks, and electrolytes included.

Burn Lab is also currently available on ClassPass for a relatively low number of credits, so it might be worth trying now before it inevitably gains popularity (and trust me, it will) and prices go up.
