Top 5 Reformer/Lagree/Pilates in London

Updated: 6 days ago

Pilates has quickly become the workout of the moment, but with new studios popping up every month, it can be hard to know which ones are truly worth it. After trying out many, we've narrowed it down to our top five favourites.

MAD Lagree Chelsea (1st floor, Atlantic Court, 77 King's Rd, London SW3 4NX) & Mayfair (32 N Audley St, London W1K 6ZG)

This is the first Lagree studio to open in London and since it's opening it still for me the best overall studio in London. Everyone at the studio is friendly and helpful and you really come out of the class feeling good and energised. They offer Beginner classes so do book that one if it is your first time if not the classes might be too challenging at the beginning.

Pros: You can book anytime with any trainer and the class will be insane & it has two locations so there must be one near you!

Cons: It gets booked up quickly so book a week in advance

Star trainers: Honestly anyone is incredible but I have a soft spot for Amalia & Renée

Enmei (143-145 Fulham Rd., London SW3 6SD)

For me, these are the most challenging classes of any studio in London. They often use very heavy springs, which makes the workout more intense and delivers an incredible burn, but the results come faster.

Pros: Small class with always great playlists (and it's just next door to Reemie's Cakes)

Cons: At times, it can be a bit too challenging, so you need to be prepared to push through the burn.

Star trainers: I usually book a random time and everyone that I had so far was great!

Studio Fix (42-44 Kensington High St, London W8 4PD)

This beautiful studio has recently become my go-to, as it's easier to get a spot—and if a Megaformer class isn’t available, there are always other great workouts to book, which is a big plus.

Pros: Clean Studio that also offers other classes such as Mat Pilates

Cons: The quality of trainers isn't consistent, so you might end up with someone who isn't very good. It's best not to book a class with just anyone.

Star trainers: Deborah & Lynn

This referral-only studio delivers intense workouts that will get you summer-ready, but what really sets it apart is the warm, intimate atmosphere. With small class sizes, it’s easy to connect and socialise with others, creating a real sense of community.

Pros: With small class sizes, you get a personalised experience: a bespoke session where you're well looked after, with corrections and one-on-one attention throughout the class.

Cons: No changing area so if you are thinking of coming straight after work, I suggest changing before arriving

Star trainers: Who better than the actual founder herself, Henriette?

Nobu Pilates (22 Portman Square, London W1H 7BG)

This studio is the only one in this classement that uses the traditional Pilates bed with its accessories. We suggest the "PURE" class as it is a more slow class but incredibly efficient, you will feel it the next morning. It is all about the breathe and extremely controlled movements. You are still able to unwind as your heart rate won't go as high as the other classes

Pros: Beautiful and luxurious studio set in a hotel & efficient class without harsh cardio

Cons: Expensive and not a lot of choice of class packages

Star trainers: Matteo
