Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Kith landed in London last month. Sure, it’s long had a small (and fairly inoffensive) corner in Selfridges, but now the brand has gone all in, taking over an entire building on Regent Street.

We’re back with our second London edition of Overhyped or Hidden Gem, because one round clearly wasn’t enough. In the age of social media, countless spots are overhyped for the sake of views alone and in today’s economy, wasting money on mediocre food just isn’t an option. Agreed?

Carbone London has been one of the most talked-about and hardest reservations to secure in the city. You’d think the hype is justified — but clearly, it isn’t. The intense over-marketing and manufactured exclusivity might make it feel exciting at first, but eventually people will tire of chasing a table, and the buzz will fade. But is it actually worth it? Let’s take a look:

One of our recent stops was Nouva Pilates, a women-only studio tucked just off King’s Road, super practical if you're based in Chelsea or nearby. The studio is small but thoughtfully designed, with one room housing just 8 reformer beds. This setup gives the classes a semi-private feel, allowing for more individual attention from the instructor, which we always appreciate.
